Winter seed time
Hi all,
Since there is nothing to do with the ground in January, I've been thinking about ordering my seeds for the year. What are some favorite spots for buying seeds? Do people prefer catalogues or local garden shops? Or can I just swing by Home Depot and still get good results?
What works best?

You need to enrich the soil. have some compost, peat moss and good topsoil roto-tilled in. Talk to any neighbors that garden to find out what is needed.
I have a pressing question. Does anyone in town do deep roto-tilling? My garden is neglected and I want to garden this summer. I need someone to till in, deeply, some good stuff and clean out the tree roots while they do it. All I find in telephone book are landscapers. Anyone? Let me know at Besq@ispwest.com
I expect to pay of course.
I'll be starting my tomatoes around the end of Feb. so they'll be big plants when frost season is over.
I order from Johnny's Seeds online. If you buy in a store, you're likely to get GM or hybridized stuff that is tasteless. Johnny's specializes in heirlooms. They've even got a tomato named for peaches that has fuzz on the outside.
It may cost a little more but the results will be worth it.
I really like the newer Spencer's in Security/Widefield.
